Srinivas Kaza, MD, FACS

General Surgeon

 

Dr. Kaza is a Board Certified General Surgeon and  fellowship trained Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgeon. Dr. Kaza received his Bachelor Degree in Biology & Chemistry from Barry University in Miami, FL. Dr. Kaza continued on to Medical School at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada.  He completed his residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Cornell University in Brooklyn, NY. and his Advanced Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.

Dr. Kaza has extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery of upper gastrointestinal, bariatric, and colorectal surgery. He is the only designated teaching surgeon for robotic surgery in Palm Beach and one of the highest volume robotic and minimally invasive surgeons in Palm Beach County.

Dr Kaza is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Wellington Regional Medical Center, served as faculty for Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), Chief of Surgery at Wellington Regional Medical Center, Associate Professor of Surgery for University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and the exclusive surgeon at Select Specialty Hospital.

Alvaro Castillo, MD

General Surgeon

Dr. Castillo is a Board Certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery.  Dr. Castillo completed medical school at the Universidad Americana in Managua, Nicaragua and continued on to complete his surgical residency at the University of Miami.  While in training at the University of Miami, Dr. Castillo was a member of the Transfusion Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Resident Evaluation Committee and received the prestigious Resident of the Year award, 2012.  Dr. Castillo completed his Fellowship training in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgery at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. He also participated in a 2 year Human Investigation Program while in Oregon.

Dr. Castillo specializes in open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery for benign and malignant disease of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, and gastroitestinal tract. He is also one of the leading hepatobiliary surgeons in Palm Beach County and South Florida region.

In addition to publishing and presenting numerous journal articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed publications and at medical meetings, he is a current member of the American Hepto-Pancreato-Biliary Association and teaching faculty for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Mark Meyer, MD

 Thoracic Surgeon

 

Dr. Meyer is a Board Certified General Surgeon and fellowship trained Thoracic Surgeon specializing in both minimally invasive and open approach treatments for multiple conditions.  Dr. Meyer received his Bachelor Degree in Biology and graduated Valedictorian from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Meyer continued on to Medical School at Rutgers Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.  He completed his General Surgery residency at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC and his Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Arizona Medical School in Tucson, AZ.  

Dr. Meyer treats multiple complex conditions including benign and malignant lung, esophagus, mediastinum, chest wall, and diaphragm diseases. 

Along with many published medical papers in well-known publications, Dr. Meyer has presented at a variety of national and international conferences and is Chief Thoracic surgeon at Wellington Regional Medical Center. Dr Meyer helped initiate a Lung Cancer Screening Program and is a strong asset to the community lecturing on the importance of smoking cessation and early detection of lung cancer.

Kandace Kichler , MD

General Surgeon

 

Dr. Kichler is a Board Certified General Surgeon with Fellowship training in Advanced GI, Minimally Invasive, and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Kichler received her Bachelor Degree at Auburn University in Auburn, AL. She completed medical school at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. She did her residency at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, FL and her Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL.

Dr. Kichler is certified and trained in robotic surgery - daVinci (Intuitive Surgical). And SAGES Fundamentals of Endoscopic Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery Certified.

In addition to being published in multiple peer reviewed journals, surgical references, and textbooks, she was presented with the AMA Women Physician Section Inspirational Physician Award 2018. She is active in both national and local chapters of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Kichler is part of the teaching faculty for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and is a leader and speaker for Women In Surgery International Career Symposium.
